West Coast Equine Sports Therapy (WCEST) is a full service equine facility located in beautiful Penn Valley, California. This long-standing, family business is known for expert care and quality service in a pristine and peaceful environment. With a focus on providing a safe and positive site for horses and their owners, WCEST specializes in rehabilitation and conditioning care for the equine athlete. Working directly with some of the best veterinarians on the west coast, we create a program specific to your horse’s needs. Our facility can accommodate a variety of individuals through our extensive list of care and boarding services; your only job is to enjoy your horse.
Boasting one of the largest, covered arenas in the area, WCEST is open to off-site riders as well. Private lessons, weekly classes, events and clinics are held throughout the year – rain or shine. Our variety of events are enjoyable for all riding disciplines and skill levels. Private arena use and special event rentals are available on a pre-scheduled basis.
West Coast Equine Sports Therapy is owned by John Mayo and operated by his daughter, Alyssa Mayo. The Mayo family carries great pride in our community. Our annual fundraisers and local events focus heavily on neighborly support. During regional disasters, the WCEST facility acts as a livestock evacuation care site and donation collection transporter. Proud members of the Nevada County Farm Bureau and Nevada County Agricultural Advisory Commission, the Mayo family is proud to be a part of our foothill community.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY
I have so many good things to say about Alyssa and this facility. I had an injured horse that she and her staff did so much to ensure his recovery. I recommend West Coast Equine Sports Therapy to anyone needing a caring reputable place for any of your horses needs.
AWESOME place, great people! The facility is always clean and fresh, you can tell the animals are well cared for. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I feel confident the aqua therapy is a huge benefit to keeping my active sporting dog in good condition.
I cannot express how grateful I am for the care that WCEST has provided for my horse! There was communication between Dr. McIntosh, Alyssa at WCEST and UC Davis. Now Gracie is in recovery back at WCEST and I, again, can't thank them enough for how well they have treated my horse and how well they have worked with me. Not to mention their facility is absolutely beautiful. Full indoor arena to work in and beautiful stalls for boarding! Thank you so much for everything!
I have had such a positive, fun, and educational experience for my 12 year old daughter Clara. Alyssa is patient, kind, and absolutely wonderful for Clara to learn all aspects of equine care and riding.
